Ocelots by Nico

My name is Nico. I am 8 years old and I chose Ocelots because they are very interesting. They also live in Panama and I live in Panama.

Ocelots live in the forest and are never  found in fields. They have very sharp claws and eat snakes. They have a good sense of smell and people use their skin for coats.

  1. Nico,
What do you think of the fact that Ocelot skin is used for coats? I find it repulsive. Do they eat anything other than snakes? Are they nocturnal? I'm glad they aren't in fields, otherwise we could potentially have tons of them behind school... eek!
    Well done :)

    1. Hi Ms. Hilary,

I don't know but they eat small animals. They eat mice and fish too! Yes they are nocturnal they hunt at night.

  2. Nico,

Wow - this is very interesting. I never knew that Ocelots eat snakes and I never knew their skin could be used to make coats. I wonder if coats that are made ever get shipped to other countries. I can't wait to read more of your posts!

I think the coats get shipped all over the world! Do you have an ocelot coat?
